ANNA CLYNE — This Midnight Hour
ANNA CLYNE — Dance for Cello and Orchestra
An Embrace of Sound, a celebration of the music of Anna Clyne, including the New York City premiere of her Dance for Cello and Orchestra, with Inbal Segev (who commissioned and recorded the work) as soloist. This Midnight Hour, an evocative tour de force for orchestra, was written in part as a response to the poetry of Charles Baudelaire and Juan Ramón Jiménez. Within Her Arms, written in the wake of the death of the composer’s mother, opens the program, with the EXO strings surrounding the audience in a sound embrace.
